Patronage of Katherine Scholes.

International author Katherine Scholes has graciously accepted patronage of The Christopher Strong Education Trust.

UNESCO endorsement for The Christopher Strong Education Trust.

WEFT has received UNESCO endorsement for The Christopher Strong Education Trust. The Trust has now reached it's goal of raising $40,000 to sustain teacher training for Tarime teachers. The Trust will continue to raise money for direct sponsorship of additional teacher training. Our committment is to fund at least one new teacher per year with interest from the Trust account. Additional money raised will allow additional teachers to be sponsored directly.

Towards a Global Community: Educating for Tomorrow's World
Campbell,J; Baikaloff, N. & Power,C.(Eds) Dordrecht NL: Springer (2006). WEF Australia led the global study undertaken by WEF in collaboration with UNESCO on education for the future. Recently published by Springer, the book begins with an analysis of the views of leading thinkers from 36 countries about the type of global community needed to ensure a peaceful and sustainable future. The second part of the book focuses on the curriculum and pedagogical implications of the WEF study, including basic education, education for sustainable development. Conflict resolution and peace, and educating world citizens.

Proposed joint conference announced at the UNESCO General Conference, Paris, October 2003
The biennial General Conference of UNESCO, to which WEF has consultant status as a Non Government Organisation (NGO), was held in the first two weeks of October. Denis Feeney, Secretary of the WEF Australian Forum and Anne Feeney, Past President of the Australian Forum represented WEF Australia at the Conference...
