The Overland Track

Central Highlands, Tasmania

This is the best known walk in Tasmania. Commencing at Ronny Creek and stretching southward through Tasmania's Central Highlands, the Overland Track covers a distance of approximately 65 kms and challenges the walker in both the degree of  climate change and the diversity of the terrain over which you walk.

Margie and I have wanted to do this walk ever since we came to Tasmania and when I retired last year, we decided to prepare for the adventure. My sister Helen and her husband Michael joined us in February this year 2007 to have a wonderful 6 days in the most perfect weather.

Visit my photographic diary and see the best of Tasmania in the most perfect weather. We had 6 days without rain and most days were 25 degrees celsius plus- most unusual.
