Welcome to the Cool Climate Classroom

These pages aim to help you to grow highly nutritious vegetables in a cool climate such as Tasmania or in Victoria's cooler regions.

We also teach Home Winemaking and run a small vineyard, making Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon in Tasmania's Tamar Valley.

Jon Hosford is an educator who has grown vegetables most of his life and inherited this interest from a passionate father.

Jon has grown vegetables in Geelong, Melbourne, Echuca (Victoria), Mathoura (NSW) and Tasmania over the past 50 years.

The advice given in these pages comes from a life and love of horticulture.

Please ask questions by writing to me at The Cool Climate Classroom.

I sincerely hope you will gain as much pleasure and good health from growing and eating nutritious food as I have

in a lifetime of eating home grown vegetables.
